GET BROKE OR DIE TRYING
The unintentional—unofficial motto of The OFFICIAL MFG. CO. I designed this graphic and accompanying collateral for a lecture Fritz Mesenbrink & Jeremy Pelley gave to the Louisville Graphic Design Association (pronounced Luavul).

PORTLAND MEADOWS — INFOGRAPHIC
As the Portland Meadows rebrand advanced I had the opportunity to dive into refreshing some old graphics that existed in past race day programs. Although the information remains dense I wrangled it into a cleaner, more intelligible and intuitive format. In doing so I also learned a few things about placing bets at the track.

WOODBLOCK CHOCOLATE
A series of postcards I designed for Woodblock Chocolate. The exquisite roses were collaged from the works of master Belgian painter & botanist For Pierre—Joseph Redoute.

BLACK PRAIRIE
Album design & Illustration for Portland five—piece bluegrass—influenced band BLACK PRAIRIE. I was excited to collaborate with Black Prairie, an incredible side project from the members of the band the Decemberists. I created a unique font for all the titles, which I have dubbed Prairie Round.

New website & new work at colbybrooks.com! Don’t think it works on an iphone yet, I’ve still got to dial in another style sheet.

THE DILL PICKLER
Sunny Oregon Coast
Nobody wanted to interrupt Jeremy’s phone call so we just decided to go through with the photo shoot anyways
I suppose you’re wondering why we called you all here to the blog today.
It’s 2012 people: recession times are hanging around, the world is going to end, and our little shop of bric-a-brac, cusswords and graphic designs is growing. We’ve learned a ton over the last year! Worked our asses off, and broke some hearts. We hired Kim to be our studio manager, Ben to be our first studio designer … Matti, Emma & Colby are the current trifecta of Intern Power.
Things are looking up folks, and we have so much further to go. Thanks are in order: thank you.
